Pigeons
Who doesn't know them?
Pigeons are everywhere: by the sea, in the mountains and on the plains. Wherever there are people — and especially benches — they are never far away, perpetually on the hunt for a few crumbs left behind.
Curious and shy, content with little, they walk among us and watch with multicoloured eyes, always alert and always ready for one small hop of escape before returning for that tempting morsel.
They make their homes on roofs, in holes in walls and among branches. Our squares, courtyards and skies would somehow feel emptier without them.
They are born without anyone noticing, and when they die, they disappear. Who knows where they go? In silence.

ABOUT THE BOOK
The book looks closely at creatures we pass every day without always seeing them. Their habits, caution, curiosity and quiet presence become the centre of the story.
